An
Army veteran from Marshfield, Wisconsin, has been reported to have died in
action on February 16 in Ukraine. According to a statement given by a
spokesperson from the US State Department to CNN on Friday, it has been
confirmed that US citizen have lost his life in Ukraine. The family of
the victim have been notified, and the department is providing them with all
possible consular assistance.

Peters, 28, was a member of the International Legion of Defense of Ukraine,
which was created by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to allow foreign
citizens to join the resistance against Russian occupants and fight for global
security. Peters, who joined the legion, had a strong sense of justice and
believed in using his military combat skills to help the Ukrainian people fight
and liberate their country.
In a
statement, Peters' parents expressed their pride in their son's bravery and
selfless sacrifice. "Andrew had a strong bond with his fellow soldiers and
was well-liked by everyone," they said, according to WSAW-TV. This
unfortunate incident highlights the dedication and sacrifice of those who
bravely serve their country and defend global security.
