Turner
Syndrome is a rare genetic condition occurring in approximately one out of
every 6,000 births. It involves an individual having a single sex chromosome,
denoted as XO, where the "O" indicates the absence of a second sex
chromosome. These individuals typically exhibit physical characteristics such
as short stature, a broad chest, and a webbed neck. Additionally, their
ovaries, oviducts, and uterus are underdeveloped and nonfunctional. Individuals
with Turner Syndrome do not experience the normal processes of puberty or
menstruation, often resulting in limited breast development. Despite these
challenges, most individuals with this syndrome possess normal intelligence and
are capable of leading relatively regular lives. However, they are unable to
conceive as they are infertile, even with hormone supplementation.
