Nervous Co-Ordination

The nervous system is made up of highly specialized cells whose function is to: (1) receive stimuli from environment, which is done by receptors (2) convert stimuli into the form of electrical impulses, a process called transduction (3) transmit them to effecter which produce appropriate response. Between the receptors and effectors are the neurons. Thus the elements of nervous system which help in co-ordination are:

(i) Receptors (ii) Neurons (iii) Effectors
